About Falcon Bowling and Social Club

Falcon Bowling and Social Club was founded in 1908.  Since its inception it has gained a wide-spread reputation of being a leading club for outdoor bowls, mirrored in this success with its enviable indoor club which was formed in 1964 – enabling Falcon to provide year-round facilities for all bowling preferences.
The club moved to its current premises in September 2002 where it offers an 8 rink indoor arena with an excellent Greengauge surface and an extensive viewing area, together with 2 outdoor greens offering both grass and all-weather carpet options.  The premises are also fully equipped to welcome players and visitors with limited mobility or wheelchairs, with ramped ground-floor access, and double-door width entry throughout.

A Warm Welcome Awaits You

You are always welcome to visit the Club and experience the friendly atmosphere and comprehensive facilities available. Taster sessions are also available during the year, together with free coaching and equipment loan for players wishing to discover more about indoor and outdoor bowling.
As the club grows in the future it looks forward to hosting more top competitive matches, welcoming new members, and continuing to offer impressive support and coaching within its strong social environment for bowlers of all ages and ability levels.

A Sociable Club

The social element of the Club is an important part of the members' experience at Falcon before, during and after matches or coaching.  The Club is proud to boast the well-stocked Falcon Bar, a large function room and the fully-equipped Rinks Restaurant, where the resident Chef, Adrian Powell offers a wide selection of menus and refreshments at attractive prices.
These additional facilities have also proved very popular with the many visiting clubs and our Social Members who are keen to enjoy the fare before and after participating in or watching the bowling matches that take place throughout the year.

The Club’s total membership is currently in excess of 600 and includes all ages and abilities, ranging from great-grandparents through to primary school aged youngsters in our Junior Section, and from experienced national level players through to newcomers to the sport.
Full details of the joining process are available in our How To Join section.
