CONGRATULATIONS TO ERNIE BROCKMAN

Ernie Brockman played a fine game of bowls to win the County Secretaries Cup 21-10 against Barry Holbrook from Silverthorn. Ernie bossed the game from the start and kept ahead all the way to secure victory. The last time a Falcon player won this competition was in 1953 when Arthur Crowe took the honours.
In the semi-final of the L&SCBA Lonsdale singles Ernie lost out to a Surrey player going down 13-21.
Congratulations to Ernie on a fine season of singles bowling.

FALCON NUDGE OUT BURNHAM

On Sunday 22nd August Falcon met Burnham in the semi-final of the Writtle Hospital Cup, played at the Falcon. After a difficult start Falcon found themselves about 9 shots down over the 3 rinks at the 7 end point. All rinks gathered themselves in the later stages to move ahead with a useful lead.
The finish was not without drama. 6 shots to the good overall, Tony Raisborough's rink had only to play safe to secure victory. Things went askew and they were 5 down with skips' woods to come. Somehow they got 5th wood and secured victory for the home side.
Scores: Falcon first.
I.Muir 20-16 A.Campbell B.Crowe 16-20 D.Shipton T.Raisborough 19-17 N.Barnes
Overall score: 55-53

Falcon won by 2 shots and meet Chelmsford in the final on 11th September at 2.30pm at Writtle.
