PRESIDENT'S DAY

CENTENARY YEAR 2008

On Saturday 19th July The Falcon Outdoor held their President's Day and the President, Tony Slocombe welcomed some 50 members on to the green to participate in a game packed full of banter, some good bowls, some wayward ones. Nobody remembers the result as this had been pre programmed and the key to the data bank lost. One rink playing for the Lady Captain had not read the plan and romped to victory, only to find afterwards that this carried a severe penalty. Greg Moss was penalised and forced to walk the plank to collect for the President's charity – Essex Air Ambulance.

At the meal afterwards President Tony said how much he was enjoying his year in office, so much so that he was prepared to break new ground and generously donate pens to anybody who had never won a pen before. Presents galore abounded and Adrian and his smiling caterers were suitably rewarded. The President's Lady,Pip Kitchin, was presented with an attractive plant, and at the raffle Reg Land declined numerous prizes but didn't need a van to carry home his customary haul.
The day concluded following a toast to the Club by the President and participating members, and everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves.

A day to remember.
