We are located in North Springfield on the north eastern side of Chelmsford, just off the A130 going towards Stansted, and close to Channels Golf Club.

To find us follow the A12 to the Boreham main interchange, take the A138 and follow the signs for Stansted. (See Map 1) At a roundabout on the A130, hard by a gravel pit entrance you will see a sign indicating Bowls Club and Golf Club. Take the right hand exit and 300 yards on your right you will see the Falcon sign board. Coming from Stansted and Braintree on the A130 reach the same roundabout and turn left.

From other directions coming into Chelmsford you need to reach the main intersection at Rainsford Road at the west end of the town and follow the A130 signs for Stansted going along The Chelmer Valley route. (See Map 2)

Founded in 1908 the Falcon is fully independent and has been a leading club in Outdoor bowls since inception, and indoors since the formation of the Indoor Club in 1964.

We moved to our new premises in September 2002 and here we sport an 8 rink indoor arena with an excellent Greengauge surface and an extensive viewing area. Outdoors we have 2 outdoor greens one of which is all weather carpet and the other grass.

We provide wheelchair facilities for players and visitors.

We have a large function room and dining room where our chef Adrian Powell offers a wide choice of menus and general refreshments at attractive prices, and many visiting clubs are keen to enjoy the fare prior to bowling in matches and then come back for more afterwards.

As we grow in the future we look forward to hosting top competitive matches as well as providing a strong social environment for bowlers of all ages and ability levels.
