FALCON WINTER SEASON 2024-25
After playing multiple rounds of the relevant competition since October 2024 the following have made it through to the final stages: -
NATIONAL COMPETITION UPDATE
Men’s Denny Cup – Falcon reached the quarter final of this four-rink inter-club knock out competition but lost to a strong Hartlepool team.
Women’s Yetton Trophy – Falcon reached the quarter final of this four-rink inter-club knock out but lost to a strong Cumbria team.
Men’s 2 wood singles (last 16) – Andy Squire plays at Nottingham on 4th April (5-30pm)
Men’s O60 pairs (last 16) – Andy Sales and Martin King play at Nottingham on 9th April (5-30pm)
Men’s fours (last 16) – Shaun Cook, Andy Squire, Jack Butcher and James Rippey play at Nottingham on 13th April (1-30pm)
Men’s O60 double rink (last 16) – Falcon “A” narrowly lost to County Arts
Women’s O60 singles (last 16) – Shirley Beavis plays at Nottingham on 2nd April (4-30pm)
Women’s pairs (last 16) – Shirley Beavis and Sue Jones play at Nottingham on 8th April (1-30pm)
Women’s O60 double rink (Mason Trophy) (semi-final) – Falcon “A” play at Nottingham on 14th April (1-30pm)
FALCON MEMBER PAULINE ADAMS WILL BE ATTENDING THESE NATIONAL FINALS AT NOTTINGHAM IN HER PRESTIGIOUS ROLE AS 2024-25 EIBA PRESIDENT.
Mixed pairs (last 16) – Debbie Sales and Robert Walker reached the last 16 playing at Bristol B.C.
Men’s Liberty Trophy (semi-final) – current holders Essex play Berkshire at Barking on Saturday 22nd March (10-30am). Falcon players selected to play are Jack Butcher, Shaun Cook, Steve Dunn, Sam Moss, James Rippey and Andy Squire. Not playing but Andy Sales is a squad member.
Final at Nottingham on 5th April (2pm)

COUNTY COMPETITION UPDATE
After playing multiple rounds of the relevant competition since October 2024 the following have made it through to the final stages
O60s league – Falcon “A” were winners in their league. Falcon “B” were runners up in their league. Falcon “D” were runners up in their league.
O60s league play off (final) – Falcon “A” play Barking “A” in the county finals at Falcon weekend of 12th/13th April.
Ladies league – Falcon Ladies currently leading their league with one game to play (Jacks vs Colchester) to determine final positions.
Men’s pairs (semi final) – Sam Moss and Steve Dunn to play J. Lloyd of Essex County at 6-30pm on Thursday 20thMarch at Barking.
Men’s triples (final) – Shaun Cook, Jack Butcher and Andy Squire play in the county finals at Falcon weekend of 12th/13th April.
Men’s fours (semi final) – Robert Walker, Alf Allen, Sam Moss and Steve Dunn to play A. Smith of Colchester at 6-30pm on Wednesday 19th March at Clacton.
Men’s Unbadged singles (final) – Paul Harrison to play in the county finals at Falcon weekend of 12th/13th April.
Ladies singles (semi final) – Shirley Beavis to play L. Pugh of Jacks.
Ladies pairs (final) – Shirley Beavis and Sue Jones to play in the county finals at Falcon weekend of 12th/13th April.
Ladies triples (final) – Shirley Beavis, Sue Harrington and Sue Jones to play this at 10am on Sunday 23rd March at Falcon. This had to be scheduled early due to players commitments in national finals.
Mixed pairs (final) – Paul Harrison and Sue Jones play in the county finals at Falcon weekend of 12th/13th April.
Mixed triples (semi final) – Chris Long, Adele Long and Ian Barker to play M. Welton of Essex County
Mixed fours (semi final) – Chris Long, Adele Long, Graham Saville and Carol Saville to play A. Smith of Colchester
