In a nail biting London and Southern Counties Shield Final, Falcon overcame Loddon Vale at the death to regain the title won last season.
After a confident start, Falcon slipped behind and remained 7-8 shots down for the majority of the game. With 3 or 4 ends remaining on each rink, the deficit stretched to 10 shots but that is when the fightback began. As each end finished, a couple of shots were clawed back.
With 10 ends left to play across the 4 rinks the score was 51-54, and with another 2 ends gone, Falcon took the lead, 57-54.
This didn't change for the remainder of the game, another 2 ends gone, 59-58.
With 2 rinks left to finish their last ends the score was 65-64. Russell Harmour's rink were 1 down in a very tight head and with his last bowl played the perfect shot to remove the Loddon Vale shot to leave Falcon lying 2, 67-64
This left Andy Squire's rink to finish. With only one bowl left, Andy was lying 3 after a jack trail leaving Loddon Vale no choice but to try and kill the end. The drive missed, Falcon were Champions for the second year running, only the 5th club to do so.
